2008 FUNDRAISER
To our friends and visitors,

Mana Project, with the support of the Trust for Public Lands and Key West Mayor Morgan McPherson, launched our initial campaign to raise the annual budget to operate and preserve Nancy Forrester’s Secret Garden and thereby save it from development.  The campaign is undertaken together with Profiles in Caring, which on May 15, 2008, featured Nancy and Mana Project in a 20 minute film for their environmental work.  Mayor Morgan McPherson declared July 29, 2008 to be “Nancy Forrester Day” to celebrate her 70th Birthday and her 40 year environmental contribution to Key West.

We are happy to report to you that Mana Project is now positioned, through its nonprofit status, to support the expenses that continue to make this a world class destination.  A Body of volunteers, advisors and professionals are now working to ensure that the garden and compound is viable for the 2008-9 operating year and to facilitate transfer of the land from Nancy to a public land trust.For this great effort, we invite you to make a tax-deductible gift of $1,000, $500, $100 or whatever fits your donation budget.  Remember the need is great and we must raise $160,000 to operate the garden and keep it from being closed to the public during this fiscal year.  That means, we must raise at least $13,000 every month.

We can reach our goal only with your help.  You have visited and supported us in the past, and with your continuing attention, love and financial help, we can help sustain this unique Garden.  Our founder, Nancy Forrester has  just turned 70 this July, and our nonprofit organization is working to preserve the work that Nancy has created.  See the wonders of this Garden on our website, a website created for the education of the public.
